Test Center
Scope of activities of the FGBI ARRIAH Testing Centre includes independent testing of food products, food raw materials and animal feed for their quality and safety that are indicative of their compliance with standards and requirements of current regulatory instruments of the Russian Federation.
Centres’ activities
- Monitoring of agricultural products of animal and plant origin, biological materials, raw materials and food products;
- Improvement and development of methods for microbiological and chemical analysis;
- Testing of food products, biological and agricultural raw materials for parameters laid down by sanitary and veterinary standards, technical specifications (TU), GOSTs and other documentation
Testing Centre (TC FGBI ARRIAH) was established and accredited by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology on the basis of the Department for Toxicological Examination of the FGBI ARRIAH on August 26, 2005 and currently it is a structural unit of the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health”.
TESTING LABORATORY (CENTRE) ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE
In 2015, the Testing Centre of the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health” was re-accredited by the Federal Accreditation Service (RosAccreditation) for its compliance with GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2009 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”.

In 2014 the TC was included in the Customs Union (CU) Register of the Testing Laboratories thus acquiring the right to perform tests whose results are accepted in all CU countries and in Russia.
In 2015, the Testing Centre of the FGBI ARRIAH was granted an international accreditation by the Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS) for performing microbiological and physic-chemical tests of food, food raw materials, grain, feed, natural and drinking water within its scope of accreditation. In July 2016, the TC competence was confirmed following the inspection performed by the Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS).
The Testing Centre has all necessary testing facilities and equipment including unique testing equipment, measurement devices, reference samples and reagents required for tests to be performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and staff and environmental safety to be ensured.
Tested parameters:
Total viable count, coliforms, pathogenic bacteria including Salmonella;
Sulphite-reducing bacteria, mold, fungi and yeasts, lactic acid bacteria, Proteus bacteria;
Antibiotic residues and residues of toxic elements (plumbum, arsenic, cadmium, mercury);
Levels of benzapyrene, pesticides (GCCG, DDT and their metabolites), histamine, oxymethylfurfural, preservatives, aflatoxin M1, radionuclides;
Quality parameters: mass fraction of protein, fat and non-fat milk solid; acidity, presence of phosphatase, inhibiting substances, etc.
